The internet has become a good way to make friends, there are so many ways to meet people online like chat rooms, message boards and personals websites. Personals websites aren’t just for dating anymore, it’s one of the safer ways to make friend that you actually would meet in person. Although that once you get to know the friendship you make online might be a little harder to manage then the friends you have met already, cause if you decide not to get online for a month and just on to talk cause your bored then get on to talk they might be a little angry. It’s probably a really good idea to find out as much as possible about the people you meet online, because sometimes people lie and tell you things that you want to hear to try to get your personal information from you. There what you call hacker they get your personal information and use it to get into your accounts and anything else of importance. There are plenty of ways to safeguard yourself, there are websites that can help find out if these people are telling you the truth. Also never give out you telephone number in the first conversation you have with this person, because giving out you telephone number can lead to them using the reverse directory and finding your address. When you feel as though it would be safe to either talk on the phone or meet this person, you should take into consideration that this person will not sound or look like they told you they would because they may not want to scare you away. Just remember with any friendship, if you want to stand the test of time you have to put in some effort. But just remember that with internet friendships you should protect yourself at all times.

Use Free Software to Make Working At Home Easier

- Image via Wikipedia
Why do people find it difficult to work from home? People fail to understand that working is not just about earning money or spending time in the office. It is also about job satisfaction. When you work at home, and when you take care of kids, cook meals, and also do household chores, you may end up feeling unsatisfied and like you are not keeping up with your professional responsibilities.
What is more, your family members may not value your work and may not treat you as if you have indeed done anything substantial. These are small things, but can lead to a lot of heartache and irritation if not tackled properly.
One thing you can do is log onto the internet to get free software applications that will help schedule your day properly. Make it a point to plan your day well in advance. You will find it difficult to establish your own office space immediately. However, you certainly can develop the habit of working undisturbed for many hours despite staying at home by adopting gradual practices.
Whether you like it or not, you will be working at home and distractions and disturbances cannot be avoided. Rather than trying to avoid them, why don’t you try to control them? You can set timers that will remind you to take a break from your work and have conservations with your spouse or kids on a regular basis.
In the same way, you should have a timer that will instruct you to shut down the computer and spend time with your family members. One disadvantage of working at home is that you may not stop working at all. In the long run, such an approach can be very harmful for your family life. Make it a point to switch off once office hours have ended.
Internet Redefines Sports Heroics

Some sports heroes seem immortal. Their exploits on the field offer a glimpse of what it is like to at least seem to be larger than life. Of the major profitable sports the most physically demanding is football, and perhaps no player has captured the imagination of the public and the media in the past 20 years more than Brett Favre.
Favre has all of the characteristics of a sports hero. He rose from a humble background. Advertisers and reporters portrayed Favre as a Mississippi country boy who made it on his talent and guts. He played to this image and was not afraid to have fun at his own expense. Favre appeared in a commercial that made fun of his famously fickle nature.
For the majority of his career Favre appeared to be almost bulletproof. He became the favorite son of Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory. But like many great athletes, Favre has not been able to handle the end of his career with the grace and decisiveness that he displayed as a competitor. As his career wound down in Green Bay, the Packers grew weary of the questions of whether or not their future Hall of Fame quarterback would continue playing or head off into retirement.
The Packers prepared by drafting another quarterback and stood their ground in preparing for the future during the first of Favre’s “retirements’. While many in the mainstream media stood by their ratings giant, Favre faced a backlash from a previously unthought-of area.
Internet publishers did not have the same restrains as outlets like ESPN in reporting on Favre. Rather than support his wishy-washy decision making, sites like Deadspin openly attacked Favre and brought into question his image. Favre might not have missed starts on the field, but under the microscope of bloggers his football resume appears tarnished by his off the field decision making.
Cowgirl Takes Down the Gunslinger…On the Internet!

Can an Internet star take down one of the most famous athletes of all time? The full story might not ever be known, but thanks to the publishing power of the Internet the names Jenn Sterger and Brett Favre will be linked forever.
Sterger gained fame in a way that could only happen during the era of the Internet. During a national broadcast of a Florida State football game, announcer Brent Musburger noted Sterger, who was decked out in a “cowgirl outfit”. The cowgirls were a group of attractive co-eds that dressed in skimpy outfits for every football game. Picture of her screen shot soon spread around the Internet and Sterger became a minor sensation. See parlayed her 15 minutes of fame into a cowgirl calendars and a featured pictorial in Playboy. Shortly after the initial blowup, the hype around Sterger seemed to slow down, and she tried to transition her fame into a career as a television reporter.
Sterger has been a reporter for the Versus Network show “The Daily Line”, but it was not her work that has brought her back into the attention of the public. Even though she might not have wanted it, renegade sports blog Deadspin reported that Sterger had been sexually approached by Brett Favre when both were involved with the New York Jets. Sterger confirmed that she received inappropriate text messages and voicemails from someone she believed to be Favre, but she did not provide the website with copies of the obscene texts. Deadspin claims to have purchased the texts from a third party.
The Favre story offers another glimpse into the world of wealthy professional athletes. Tiger Woods suffered a terrible fall from grace after text messages he sent to a seemingly endless stream of mistresses went viral. Woods and Favre show that no matter a person’s level of fame the Internet has made the most powerful people vulnerable to the prying eyes of a judgmental public.
Simmons, Moss and Twitter

The media enjoys stories about new and interesting products or services. When Twitter burst onto the scene some pundits declared that it would revolutionize the world and change the way that people communicate. While changing the world 140 characters at a time is difficult business, Twitter has already changed the way the media reports stories and rumors.
The stream of conscience nature of Twitter has caused the multiple sports rumors and controversies. The latest comes from ESPN columnist Bill Simmons. Simmons, “The Sports Guy” writes a popular column for ESPN.com’s page 2. With more than 1.25 million Twitter followers, Simmons had a audience that would not ignore even with the slightest hint of a juicy trade rumor. And prior to the New England Patriots’ trade of Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings, Simmons claims to have accidentally Tweeted the message “moss Vikings” to his followers.
Simmons says that his message was supposed to be a private communication with ESPN reporter Adam Schefter. Simmons quickly took the message down from his public Twitter, but once a message gets out online there is no taking it back. Simmons said that his information about the pending trade came from a well placed Vikings source. ESPN editorial policy would not allow Simmons to report a single anonymous source story without further verification.
Rather than letting the rumor fester, Simmons sent out a message that confirmed there were rumors about a deal that would send Moss to his original team, the Vikings. Soon other news organizations were reporting on the deal, and the momentum seemed to be pushing Moss to Minneapolis. A deal later emerged that sent Moss out of New England, and fans of both teams were not surprised.
Even though Twitter has yet to have society altering effects, the level of rapid access has changed the way news is reported. Press releases and breaking news have usually already been reported by someone close to a story.
